Even if Lee and Moura work overtime to sell the terrifying scenario these parents find themselves in, ridiculous lines and worse decision-making takes us out of the moment. Go to Full Review

There’s nothing to tether yourself to, no real narrative anchor point that’s anything more than a discombobulated message of the power of family. Go to Full Review

The film is most compelling throughout as a straightforward domestic drama, with increasingly fraught family dynamics lending proceedings a baseline of credibility even as whatever’s happening outside the house remains largely inscrutable. Go to Full Review

Director Louis Leterrier pumps up the action in the final scenes, but "The Last House" is still a slow-moving sci-fi thriller. Go to Full Review

The Last House perfectly understands how to trap us inside its house. What it never quite figures out is what to do with us once we're inside. Go to Full Review

The Last House is a movie with a lot of potential to be great, but plot holes and poor execution hold it back. Go to Full Review

Umutoni G @RT01569678 34m Honestly, this was a pretty disturbing watch. it's not the kind of horror movie that relies on jump scares, it's more about the violence, revenge , and how far people can go when pushed too far. definitely uncomfortable in same parts, but I can see why it became such a talked about horror film. See more Kai R @RT36404055 1h Whilst Wagner Moura is a great actor, when it comes to a fully English speaking character, his accent is just too distracting to pull it off convincingly. And despite being obviously Spanish, nothing in the script even tried to incorporate it. The lack of chemistry between the entire cast was painfully obvious. There was a particular scene that really annoyed me where it's like for some reason, being trapped in a house by mystical rain is normal, but seeing a strange thing outside is just not possible. The Asian wife and kid just felt like it was a DEI quota and Greta Lee's character just felt like she was doing everything to bring the morale of everyone down. The ending just felt unfulfilling and didn't explain anything. I suppose the movie is fine, if you just focus on the last 30 minutes. See more Kevin C @WisdomMoon 1h Unforgivably dumb - avoid! See more Kashgar A @AllFunAndGames 1h Well I’m going to go against the grain here and say that I really liked it. The concept was original, I liked the problem solving aspect and the plot moved at a good pace. My only real criticism is that the ending was a bit weak. I’d still love to see a sequel set in this new reality. Don’t believe the haters. It was a fun night’s viewing. See more Richard L @LargeRichard 1h Slow, ridiculous and unsatisfying. Even fast forwarding didn’t help See more Dizzy L @RT48815969 2h Do not bother ! Crap script written by a moron . Total waste of time See more Read all reviews
