Lacking humanity and relying almost exclusively on shock, "The Mosquito Bowl," a heinous World War II epic coming to Netflix, struggles to define its story. Go to Full Review

It’s the kind of movie a testicle would make if a testicle made movies and really gave a damn about sound design. Go to Full Review

For all of its supposed verisimilitude, The Mosquito Bowl seems less indebted to the reality of war than it does to Hollywood’s idea of it, and its abject refusal to flesh out its characters makes it feel more contrived rather than less. Go to Full Review

"The Mosquito Bowl" is at its best when it captures men bonding through touchdowns, and slightly less so when it does the same through trauma. Go to Full Review

I believed in these men as a group. I just wish the movie had bothered to get to know any of them. Go to Full Review

Scot W 6 hrs ago Harrowing and raw war footage, emotional connections to the characters, blended with historical footage, interesting story. See more Debbie M 16 hrs ago Very moving, intense and realistic. See more Shay 17 hrs ago The Mosquito Bowl is a powerful movie based on a true story - it accurately tells the story of war in two powerful WWII battles (Tarawa and Okinawa) but also beautifully tells the human side of the experience. A must see if you enjoy WWII stories. See more Kennedy 20 hrs ago Well done personalization of war, and actors were deep into their roles. The mid transition from full-on war scenes to the “idea” of having the football game was not transitioned well and lacked story foundation but once accepted the story came back together. Overall good subject and reasonable execution. Sometime true stories are more difficult to portray than fiction. I like the opportunity to see fresh approaches and new talents. See more Bobbi 20 hrs ago This was a poweful and beautiful story about World War 11 and these made the sacrifice of their lives to put their fooball careers on hold anad serve their country I am a WW11 buff See more Michael 23 hrs ago Like all of Berg's movies, this one had amazing direction, camera work, and sound. Every scene was intense. The actors and crew really came together around this one. The 4 leads did a phenomenal job. I wish the script had devoted more time and depth in its character development before sending them off to war. See more Read all reviews
