The event itself? was somewhat lost when it happened, I think more was made of it in NYC than anywhere else in the country- but it has all the right elements you want in a movie. Keeping. See more Brian F. @FedUpDVDCollector Dec 20 Early on the love interest pulls out an American accent that is meant for a joke, but JGL’s French accent and demeanor are more comical to me. He was certainly locked into character though. It may be a good impression for all I know but he is extra heavy in the French. John Malcovich would be proud. The film makes me wonder how accurate it is to the true story. It seems like so many stars aligned. Did a guy who watched him in France really work at the north tower and met him in New York? Did one of the crew members really work on a shrimp boat, or was that a joke from Zemeckis? A lot of French speaking early in the film but they eventually (thankfully) manage to switch to English to “practice” for their journey to New York. It was really nice to see the towers come back to life. The technology really puts you there. Kingsley was great in his moments on the screen. The love story takes such long pauses I forget it’s there, but that’s ok. The story seems better than the film, yet it’s a story that’s is well deserving of a movie. JGL occasionally comes in to narrate from the Statue of Liberty to inject just enough detail. It truly is amazing what humans are capable of when they set their mind on something. Very enjoyable flick. The climatic scene is visually stunning and gives you more than I expected. He really made the most of his moment in the sky. Some of the comments complaining about lack of plot make no sense. They must be referring to almost every other movie which involves tedious backstories, contrived interpersonal drama, etc. etc. This movie has a tight and focused plot which is always better imo.
