Marco L @decatur555 Jul 28, 2026 Frankly, Three Steps Above Heaven is a huge turd. Poorly written characters, weak performances, and a story that sells as great romance a relationship that looks pretty worrying with a little distance. Hache is meant to be the irresistible rebel, but he's violent, possessive and unable to control himself, and instead of a warning sign the film treats it as a fantasy of the intense guy a good girl can save. Seriously? He hits, threatens and humiliates, and the bike and the brooding look are supposed to excuse it. Babi is barely built, and the relationship moves forward because the script says so. Mario Casas is awful, all clenched jaw and menacing delivery with no vulnerability, and the chemistry with María Valverde is poor. It's a pile of teenage clichés that confuses intensity with love, and it's far too long for how little it says. Worst of all, it romanticizes violence and jealousy for a young audience. Corny, empty and irresponsible. A turd from start to finish. See more Nov 24, 2019 Very romantic movie. It shows both the advantages and disadvantages of love. The only drawback of the movie was that it ended very differently than I expected in the beginning, even in the second movie, the two main characters of the movie do not get along with each other.
