[This is] an forgettable tune in an otherwise interesting set list. Go to Full Review

Even as the “V/H/S” installments themselves remain fresh, the mat they fit feels progressively nostalgic. That’s an awkward position for a property whose modern reputation was made on cutting-edge discovery. Go to Full Review

Instead of the standard wraparound story...we get sketches...that are likely mildly amusing to anyone able to access the obscure frequency of their wavelength but profoundly agitating and juvenile to those of us left out in the uncostumed cold. Go to Full Review

There’s worthwhile content here, but as it comes and goes, it could be described as slash-and-miss. Go to Full Review

Only two really stand out: a stop-motion effort from Flying Lotus that is ultimately too short, and the final segment directed by RZA. These V/H/S films don’t always go out on a strong note, so kudos to this one for at least landing plane. Go to Full Review

Aaron D @Doober 10 hrs ago Might be the worst movie this year. Certainly the worst in a fast-falling franchise. GWAR inclusion was terrible. No foundational narrative. Horrendous jump cuts. Terrible special effects and animations. "Press play. Pray it stops." I certainly prayed. See more Christian K @ckacar 5 days ago VHS is so chopped and screwed right now but i love it, except the GWAR interstitials here please don't do that again. See more Jose R @RT01818967 6 days ago V/H/S/Mixtape is an absolute mess—and that’s precisely why it works. Unbound by corporate studio polish, the film exists purely to break rules and throw wild ideas at the screen. The opener with the hyper-violent puppets sets a delightfully chaotic tone, delivering pure, laugh-out-loud absurdism. Further in, Ernest Dickerson’s segment with the violinist shifts the tape entirely, offering beautifully shot sequences of cosmic horror that look genuinely stunning. Even the framed band interventions swing wildly between dull stretches and hilarious peaks, but that unpredictability is part of the charm. In a genre landscape worn thin by sanitized studio formulas, V/H/S/Mixtape embraces its rough edges. It is uneven, loud, and irregular—a raw, unfiltered mess that feels refreshingly alive. See more Ramon V @Ramonite149 Oct 24, 2026 It wasn't enough this time. This installment of VHS wasn’t bad, but compared to the previous ones, the segments didn’t seem as interesting to me. They all started off with a lot of potential, but as the stories progressed, they lost my interest. The stop motion segment looked like it might be my favorite, but it was too short, and I didn’t quite understand the ending. Even so, I don’t think it’s a bad film, especially when you consider what the VHS franchise is all about. See more Austin D @RT81881005 Oct 24, 2026 If you’re looking for a good, cliché horror, gore fest, absurdity, this is the movie for you. The thing that makes this movie, and the others in the series, great is that even on the less engaging scenes, the experience is unique. The watch through is fun and it’s exciting to see where these directors take these stories. I loved it for what’s it worth and thought it was awesome lol See more Paul M @CinePaulyReviews Oct 23, 2026 Here’s the thing, not all the segments were good but the ones that did it for me were good. These directors need more spotlight on them and that is why I love these VHS films See more Read all reviews
