It successfully captured the emotions of frustration, anxiousness, and curiosity that the characters had with every lead and interaction with the Zodiac. Although the ending is not the ideal ending that viewers want, it conveys and questions the reality, tragedy, and consequences that come with murder, obsession with curiosity, and the media. Overall, I found it an interesting film with a good plot and complex characters. It was a bit long to sit through, though, but if you want a film that makes you feel a range of emotions/tension and an interesting psychological thriller built through slow-burning suspense with not really any jump scares, I would recommend The Zodiac. See more Harman Deep S @Harman2000 Feb 18 Based on the wonderful novel, this film brilliantly tells the story of the unknown Zodiac killer, who operated in the late 60's and early 70's. You will easily lose a full night or afternoon with this movie, it's incredibly, it's engaging, dramatic, and captivating. I love how the time passes by on the film, everything changes accordingly, it's very well produced. At times it's very sinister, and creepy, but it's subtle, nothing is forced or heavy handed. The acting is terrific, Ruffalo and Downey are brilliant, a fresh faced Jake Gyllenhaal is arguably the one that steals the show. It really is a brilliant movie, I would recommend it highly. See more Ryan C. @djrmc24 Feb 16 Zodiac is a very good and perfectly orchastrated film from legendary Director, David Fincher. Every scene is full of so much rich detail and quality, that you would think you were transported back to the 60’s and 70’s in the Bay Area. Those who are looking for a big slasher film are going to be very disappointed because this is about the real life Zodiac killer who had 7 victims. Most of the kills happen early on in this film and the rest is about the local newspaper team and officers trying to solve who is responsible. Of course those who know the real life story will know that they never end up catching the one responsible but nearly almost figured it out. The film really shows the work that went in trying to solve these cases and how time consuming and draining it became on those involved. The film is a little overlong and the pacing not as tight as one would expect from a Fincher film. Still this an enjoyable ride even though the tone of the film is dark. Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr, and Jake Gyllenhaal all give great performances. Zodiac gets a solid 4 stars out of 5 from me. See more Rafaël Z @CINERAF Feb 15 The movie is long but breathtaking.
